The Sandrock is one of Clacton-on-Seas most respected accommodation provider. We are an Award Winning establishment given by The AA Organisation.In August 06 we were awarded 4 Stars for our Hospitality, Service, Food and Comfort. These 4 stars have been re-awarded in 2007 2008 2009 and for 2010.

2009 was another busy season for us with some noteable changes, guests stayed for a longer periods, mostly British with very few continentals visiting our shores. The outcome of the above meant we had a lot of Strawberry Jam not eaten. Unlike the rest of the Country the Sun shone brightly in Clacton.

We are holding our prices for 2010, we have also introduced an Online Booking System which will allow our guests to check out our availability 24 hours a day.

We hold a Premises Inspection Certificate from the Enviromental Services and both Jill and Paul hold Personal Food Hygiene Certificates.

Location Location Location so they say for the Perfect Home, well we are perfectly located within the Coastal Resort of Clacton, just yards away from the Award Winning Sea Front Gardens (Green Award), Cliff Top and Award Winning Beaches(Blue Flag). We are but a two minute walk to Pier Avenue and its entertainment area with all that it has to offer, plus The Pier now under new management (2009) with lots of new amusements. The pier now has a new Pub called The Broadwalk which is quite upmarket. Plus many more new attractions being added each month. The Pier has truly re-invented it's self. Turn left from our front garden and you are a three minute walk to the shopping centre with its new Fountains, Seating and pedestrian friendly street layout.

The Clacton Shopping Village also has new owners who have redesigned the centre, bringing in new shops offering great discounts, M & S Outlet being one of them. More new stores are planned for 2010. The shopping village is a short car or bus ride away.

Apparentlly we are 34% drier,6% hotter and 6% sunier than England and Wales as a whole, which makes the area of Clacton the driest region. We certainly do have our very own eco climate, while being on the East Coast we actualy face South.

Some of our rooms do have a part seaview, so book early.

The Sandrock is a detached Victorian/Edwardian residence built of soft red bricks with sandstone piers and a red tiled roof. The property was sympathetically converted to a Hotel some 30 years ago. There is a wide central staircase with two handrails to the first floor. We have one ground floor twin room, a family room that can sleep 4/5, six doubles and two twin rooms all with en-suite facilities.

We have two fold up beds and a travel cot that can be used within our more spacious rooms.

A very comfortable guest lounge is available with a wide screen TV, a range of board games and books to amuse you.

You can rest easy knowing that our deserved reputation for cleanliness and our hospitality are second to none. Our position is ideal for you to be able to roam around the shopping centre, the pier or the south facing sandy beaches but still only be a few minutes walk from The Sandrock.

As mentioned we record some of the Sunniest and Driest Weather in England, so if you are thinking of touring our part of the country then Clacton will make an ideal base to stay with its evening entertainment pubs theatres and restaurants. We are just a short distance from the Historic Town of Colchester, the Scenic area of The Dedham Vale 17 miles(Constable Country) Beth Chatto's Famous Gardens. The 1000 acre wood by the river Stour to name but a few things to do while staying at the Seaside resort of Clacton-on-Sea.

Our Car Park is at the rear and free road side parking outside The Sandrock(allday).

A Public Pay Phone is situated on the stairway on the 1st floor.

Free Wireless Business Broadband is available in all of our rooms.

Each room has a folder with a list of recommended places to eat or visit, bus timetables are available, we can also book our local theatres for you.
